Downtown MT Station (Traditional Chinese: 城中心捷運站) is a monorail station on the Mapleview Rapid Transit line. Operated by Mapleview Transit, the rapid transit station is located in Downtown Lily in the City of Mapleview in the Regional Municipality of Gravenhurst.

By far the station is the 3rd busiest of the entire rapid transit system, as it caters the commercial sectors of the City Centre. Most of the daily commuters alight here.

HistoryEdit

Downtown Station is one of the stations to initially open with the Mapleview RT System. A former empty plot of land used for a parking lot in the City Centre was acquired to construct the rapid transit station. The site is located in the middle of the city commercial core, where most of the commercial jobs are located.

A redevelopment project in Mapleview City Centre in 2004 has created an abundance of extra commercial jobs, which has increased an extra level of riderships.

Opened as Sobeys MT Station in 1996, the station was renamed as Downtown Station in October 2009, to better reflect the downtown identity of the area, and to avoid potential confusion with the future Sobeys Power Centre MT Station associated with the proposed University Spur Line.
