North City (Traditional Chinese: 北城; French: Quartier du Nord) is one of the five quarters in the City of Archemedes in Gravenhurst Region of the Imaginary Lands of Nicholas. Prior to the amalgamation in 2008, the quarter is an independent municipality known as the Town of North Archemedes. In terms of population, this is the second smallest quarter in the city.
The quarter largely occupies the northern portion of the city, generally between Eden Avenue and the northern city limits.
Cityscape[]
The bulk of the quarter is predominantly rural. The urban core of the quarter is along Highway 2 (Main Street). There are also residential developments along the Jones Creek in the area, and a private housing estate near the northern end of the quarter. Most of the population resides in Seneca, a community in the quarter.
There are plans to further urbanize the quarter as the population of the city continues to rise. The commercial core of the quarter have been re-zoned for higher density commercial developments, meanwhile, planned low- to medium-density housing developments are scattered across the quarter. To cater the increased development, it is planned that a new "mid-corridor" highway (Highway 507) to be built in the area.
