Topsity GO Station, originally named as Zephyr GO Station, is a train station operated by GO Transit located in the City of Topsity - Zephyr in Gravenhurst Region. The station serves both the Golden Corridor Line and the West Pacific Coastal Line, and is the terminus for both lines.

The station is connected to 7 TTC routes, but it is not gCard compatible.

History[]

The station opened as Zephyr Station in January 1, 1972, when the West Pacific Line began operation. The station was solely operated by the Pacific Coastal Train Commission, which merged with GO Transit in 2003. In 2003, when the City of Topsity, along with the nearby Town of Yari - Yolitown merged with Gravenhurst Region, the region seeked an extension of the Golden Corridor Line and Highway 505 from the former terminus at Mapleview to Topsity to maintain regional unity.

In 2003, with the merger to GO Transit, the station was renamed to Topsity GO Station.

In 2008, the Golden Corridor Line extension was completed, and began its operation on July 1, 2008.

Future Expansion[]

The regional government has already invested $111 million dollars to expand the train station to a massive bus and train terminal, similar to Vandehogan Terminal. The expansion is expected to be completed by early 2010. By then, buses will have proper sheltered platform for passenger embarkment. The terminal is expected to be 2 stories high, the upper level to be used as a bus terminal, and the lower level be a train terminal. The expansion is also expected to accommodate freight train uses and extension of the Pacific Coast line.
